Barrier

Lack of information on parameters necessary for decision making and the well-being of citizens.

Solution

Implement our Smart City solution to turn the city into a reference in smart cities in the Valencian Community.

Our Client

Torrent City Council has been in charge of transforming its city into a Smart City with the aim of transforming it into a sustainable city and with the objective of improving the quality of life of its more than 80,000 citizens.

The project

IoTsens provided the city with the necessary elements to start this transformation process co-financed by EDUSI funds. The installation consists of IoT devices of different types, which communicate through the network of smart streetlights deployed in the city. These data are sent to the IoTsens platform, which in turn is integrated with Sentilo, the open Smart City platform used by the Provincial Council.

The city now has more than 650 devices divided between:

  • LoRaWAN Gateway
  • Smart Grid
  • Filling monitors
  • Sound monitors
  • Solenoid valves
  • Parking monitor
  • Air quality monitor

Ignacio Llopis, Managing Director of IoTsens, recalled that “among other advantages, this type of technology allows us to collect, integrate, store and analyze diverse information from a global perspective, which makes it easier for administrations to make decisions in real time to improve the quality of life of citizens”.

Results
  • Reduction of CO2 emissions
  • Reduced parking time and traffic congestion
  • Monitoring of emitted noise and air quality for action taking
  • Increased efficiency in urban waste collection
  • Economic savings
  • Decision making based on more accurate information.
