Entities such as the Junta de Castilla y León in Spain have already installed in their educational centers more than 5,000 sensors -of the IoTsens technology- capable of measuring CO2 levels.

More than 100 scientists and health workers have sent a letter to the central and regional governments urging them to develop criteria, procedures and regulations to avoid Covid-19 infections, especially in places of risk due to inhalation such as educational centers, where the ventilation of spaces is vital.

At this point, solutions such as the CO2 sensor developed by IoTsens – a Grupo Gimeno company specialized in global solutions for IoT, Big data and artificial intelligence – come into play, capable of measuring the concentration of carbon dioxide in closed spaces, in order to ensure that the ventilation and air quality in these is correct.

Aware of the importance of carrying out this measurement to ensure the well-being and health of the student body, the Junta de Castilla y León, under the leadership of the Department of Education, has commissioned the company to install more than 5,000 of these sensors in the educational centers of its nine provinces.

Sensors that, as explained by Ignacio Llopis, managing director of IoTsens, “also make it possible to configure alerts in case the indices approach too high thresholds, with the main objective of establishing preventive measures”. And, as Llopis has continued, “a high level of CO2 represents an excessive concentration of people per square meter, which makes it difficult to maintain a safe distance and increases the chances of contagion. Hence the importance of having this technology “.

The tool is part of Full indoor covid control, an innovative pack of sensors developed by IoTsens that measures the acoustic level, CO2 concentration and body surface temperature of people to carry out with a comprehensive control of SARS-CoV- 2 in closed spaces. This devices have already been implemented by companies and institutions such as the Jaume I University of Castelló -with the installation of 30 body temperature control sensors-, Porcelanosa, Valencia Plaza, Aquarama, Sacmi, Refrival, Nayar Systems, Tecinsa or the Conservatori de Música of the Vall d’Uixó.
